LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities now know what caused the death of a San Francisco man who died at an electronic dance music festival in Las Vegas. The Clark County Coroner's office said Wednesday that 24-year-old Nicholas Austin Tom died of ecstasy intoxication, which was ruled an accidental overdose. He was pronounced dead June 21 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway during the Electric Daisy Carnival. About 135,000 dance music fans attended the Electric Daisy Carnival, which saw 1,400 medical calls and 27 incidents of people taken to the hospital during the three-night period. Officials blamed the triple-digit heat for the spike in people seeking medical care, as it was about 10 degrees warmer compared to 2014.
