Cy Falter, 25, and his brother Jason, 28, are the fifth generation of Falters to run the Herman Falter Packing Co. on the city’s South Side. The company turned 125 years old last Friday, and though much has changed inside the big, weathered brick factory and tiny office building — they no longer slaughter pigs — much remains as it was when a 30-year-old German immigrant named Herman Falter decided to go into the meat-packing business in 1890.
