A former girlfriend of ex-Navy SEAL Chris Heben has ended her bid to obtain a permanent protection order. An attorney for Heben told Beacon Journal news partner NewsNet 5 that the parties reached a “mutual agreement” and asked to cancel a scheduled hearing Tuesday in front of Cuyahoga Common Pleas Judge Pamela Barker. The hearing was originally scheduled after Heben’s former girlfriend obtained a temporary protection order last September accusing him of “a repeated pattern of conduct causing mental distress” including “harassing and threatening” behavior. An attorney for the woman declined to comment on what prompted the decision to drop her case.Earlier this month in a separate case, an Akron jury found Heben not guilty of lying to police about being assaulted in an Akron area shopping center parking lot in March 2014.Read the NewsNet5 report here.
