A former Madison Township police officer can avoid a conviction for drug possession if he completes a court-ordered treatment program, a Franklin County judge ruled today. Timothy W. Johnson, 57, of Hilliard filed a request for what’s known as “intervention in lieu of conviction,” which was approved by Common Pleas Judge Laurel Beatty.
