A one-two punch of rain is forecast for Northern California but neither weather system is expected to pack much power. The Pacific storm systems are predicted to bring light valley rain and some mountain snowfall tonight. Then, on Thursday, a quick-moving wave of moisture brings a chance of rain to the Sacramento Valley and some mountain snow. Today, however, the weather is expected to be a repeat of what has been the norm for the past week: mostly sunny skies with a high near 72 degrees. The rainfall total for the season in Sacramento stands at 15.82 inches, which is 92 percent of normal for the date. Snowfall totals tonight are not expected to be heavy, according to the National Weather Service.
