Google is using search data to track the candidates’ online interest leading into the New Hampshire primary, and the company may have some good news for a certain Midwestern governor. At press time, Bernie Sanders led the Democrats and Ohio Gov. John Kasich led the GOP field, according to New Hampshire search data. On the day of the primary, Kasich saw a surge in online interest from users living in New Hampshire, eventually putting him ahead of Donald Trump for the day’s search traffic.
