State Rep. Richard Holtorf backed some of the most restrictive abortion legislation in the country back in 2020, with Proposition 115 that would have outlawed abortion after 22 weeks gestation and made it a misdemeanor for doctors who violated the ban. It failed on a 40-60 vote. Earlier this year, Holtorf spoke on the floor of the Colorado Assembly about his girlfriend at the time who'd had an abortion.
The Biden campaign has wished Donald Trump a happy birthday today in the trolliest way possible. They listed Trump's felony convictictions, his allies who have gone to prison, that "Donald oversaw the largest single-year increase in violent crime ever recorded," his promise to pardon violent rioters, that he lost the House and Senate, that he endorsed an abortion ban, that his former vice-president won't endorse him, proposing to cut Medicare and Social Security (four times!), that he failed as a steak salesman, that “Trump Org.” was convicted for failing to pay its taxes, that he's a golf cheat, that he was impeached (twice!), that he's a racist birther, that he falls asleep "a lot", and they listed his bankruptcies.
Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi tore Trump to shreds on MSNBC's Last Word, and correctly called him out as a great imposter.
Host Lawrence O'Donnell described Republicans fawning over Trump on Capitol Hill as "a shot at the male ego."
O'Donnell: It has astonished me that among, and I mean this as a male ego issue, that among Republican men in the Senate and in the House, male ego somehow disappeared.
And I don't think social psychology has ever seen a phenomenon like this before in the history of the study of male ego.
Pelosi jumped in and did not mince words.
Fox News host Jesse Watters did his best to clean up Trump's incoherent ramblings and pretend they make perfect sense.
Watters: We told you Biden can't run on his record, so they're going to drag him across the finish line and replace him with Kamala after inauguration.
But in order to do this, they have to distract you from how old, unfit and incompetent he is.
The way they do that is to slap those labels on Trump.
You'll hear Trump say the most common sense things about Biden's failed policies.
His wind turbines are killing whales, his open borders letting in mental patients, the shower pressure regulations make you have a bad hair day.
This week, Trump said Democrats are going to start putting electric batteries not just in cars, but in boats.
[CLIP]
Trump: And if you know anything about how heavy these batteries are, that boat's going down.
So there's a shark 10 yards away from the boat, 10 yards or here.
Do I get electrocuted?
If the boat is sinking, water goes over the battery, the boat is sinking.
Do I stay on top of the boat and get electrocuted?
Or do I jump over by the shark and not get electrocuted?
[END CLIP]
Watters: You hear that, and you laugh, but it makes sense.
The media hears it and calls him senile.
Senator Ron Johnson (Q-Moscow) has a new concern regarding the investigation into the January 6 insurrection. He is worried that the FBI is doing SWAT raids on "grandmas and grandpas" who just happened to be near the Capitol:
The lawmaker appeared on Fox Business fuming over federal authorities prowling for January 6 rioters — claiming "grandmas and grandmas" are enduring SWAT treatment.
"We've had this massive dragnet, this massive manhunt for grandmas and grandpas that show up on January 6, never enter the Capitol, just happened to be in Washington, D.
Fox's Laura Ingraham fantasizes about 50 years of MAGA rule following Felon45's return to the Capitol this Thursday. Here's Ingraham saying the quiet part out loud during a portion of her opening:
INGRAHAM: So it's time for everyone now in the GOP to acknowledge that Trump was right. He was right about the economy.
