I Need Help Finding A Movie From The 80's.

I saw this movie when I was in high school. I remember the title as 'Trek', but I haven't been able to find it. It was more of a travelogue than a movie. The main character traveled the world on his sailboat with his bull terrier dog. He mined opals in Australia, sailed a lot, drove a jeep in the desert.
