Interview With The Undocumented Valedictorians Who Ignited A Firestorm Of Controversy

Larissa Martinez and Mayte Lara Ibarra were the valedictorians at their high schools in McKinney and Austin, Texas, respectively. These scholars both came out as Dreamers, or undocumented young immigrants, in a very public manner during the end of their high school careers. Jaime Rodriguez, editor in chief of Rice University's Tapia magazine, brought the two young valedictorians to Houston for a panel discussion. After the panel discussion I sat down with Jaime, Larissa, and Mayte for an interview.
