Irish dancing is a little known but growing hobby in the United States. But it's a big deal in other parts of the world, and no bigger than -- obviously -- in Ireland. "Strictly Irish Dancing" (Wed., 10 p.m. ET on TLC), which was originally broadcast in Ireland as a two-part special, took a look at the 2011 Irish Dance World Championships. The show was a fascinating exploration into the dance style, which is almost never seen on shows like "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing with the Stars." With interviews from luminaries in the field interspersed throughout the coverage of the competition, the program was both entertaining -- they showed a lot of dance -- as well as informative. The special also made it very clear just how difficult this dance style can be to master and perform well. One highlight of the hour was watching 12-year old Jack perform and then achieve his dream of winning first place.
