AUGUSTA –– Gov. Paul LePage delivered a written State of the State address on Monday that repeatedly accuses “socialist” lawmakers of blocking his policy agenda to lower taxes, reform welfare, create jobs and address the state’s drug crisis. LePage opens his letter by stating that he was skipping “the pomp and circumstance of a live speech” in order to focus on helping Maine people.
