Yesterday brought with it the debut trailer for 20th Century Fox's upcoming Wolverine film, Logan, and director James Mangold has since come forward to discuss the footage, hinting at where the movie fits into the overall X-Men timeline. When asked about Logan's place in the greater X-Men story, Mangold told Empire, "We are in the future, we have passed the point of the epilogue of Days of Future Past." The aged and weathered state of Professor X, as well as a scarred and older Wolverine, makes it clear several years have passed since we last saw Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman's characters, which Mangold is taking "as an opportunity" to address "the questions of ageing, of loneliness, of where I belong.
