The wait at the lift line is going to be a lot shorter at Loveland Ski Area. On Tuesday, the Arapaho National Forest approved a replacement for the ski area’s Lift 6, a 40-year-old fixed-grip double chairlift that can take 1,200 skiers per hour. The new lift will be either a fixed-grip triple or a detachable quadruple chairlift, which would increase the number of potential skiers to 2,400 per hour. The new lift will be built in the same place as the existing lift, according to the forest service. Loveland has nine lifts that serve 1,800 acres.
