Following The Maze Runner opening with the top spot at the box office this weekend, 20th Century Fox has announced that the sequel, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, will arrive in theaters September 18, 2015.The follow-up will open against Universal's Everest and Warner Bros.' Black Mass next September. The Maze Runner is the first book in a trilogy written by James Dashner, which was followed up by The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure, which may be adapted by 20th Century Fox in the future.The Maze Runner director Wes Ball will return to direct from a script by T.S.
