While the 1997 live action "Spawn" film was widely derided, the critics were much happier with the far darker and more adult HBO animated series based on Todd McFarlane's creation. Running for three seasons, and winning an Emmy for one, the series was famous for being a very faithful adaptation of the comic and containing very adult subject matter with violence, sex and buckets of blood. McFarlane has often teased the revival of "Spawn" in one form or another over the years, and this week used his Facebook page to tease a new animated "Spawn" project in the works.
