Work crews lower a 504-foot truss span — the sections between the towers where the roadway sat — from the old eastern section of the Bay Bridge on Friday. It’s the first of five such trusses that were built in 1935 and will have to be dismantled as part of the bridge’s removal, and each weighs about 5 million pounds.
