Denver International Airport is on track to break a record for the number of passengers passing through the airport. Passenger traffic was up 6.2 percent through September, compared with the same period of 2016, according to traffic reports produced by the airport. Despite seeing a 0.3 percent decrease in the overall number of passengers traveling through DIA in September compared with last September, international traffic increased nearly 10 percent. This year DIA added several new international airlines and routes this year, including Norwegian Air’s flights to Gatwick Airport in London in September. Denver’s overall passenger traffic is up by more than 11 percent in the first nine months of the year. Cargo operations increased 7 percent for September. In 2016, DIA experienced its busiest since it was built in 1995, counting 58.3 million travelers.
