A Southern California surf town made political waves last May when city officials slapped the Obama re-election campaign with a $35,000 bill for security services rendered while the president was in town. Now Newport Beach, Calif., known for its conservative politics and affluent community, is proving that the pendulum swings both ways when it comes to the cost of hosting high-end political fundraisers. City Manager Dave Kiff confirmed to the Los Angeles Times Monday that he billed Romney Victory Inc.
