Worker at Disney's Animal Kingdom Dies in Accident

A worker who suffered a head injury on a ride undergoing maintenance at Disney's Animal Kingdom has died. The accident happened Sunday afternoon at the Primeval Whirl ride in the park's DinoLand U.S.A. section. Officials say Russell Sherry Roscoe, 52, was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center and died Monday morning.

 

Disney Buys HTML5 Gaming Startup Rocket Pack

Disney (DIS) has acquired Rocket Pack, a Helsinki-based start up producing HTML5 video games, TechCrunch reports. Terms weren’t disclosed, but TechCrunch says one source said the deal was valued at between $10 million and $20 million. The story adds that the company’s software allows the creation of games that run in Web browsers, with no plug-in or Flash required.
