Beckham optimistic about transfer to Milan from LA

David Beckham expects the next seven days will be "important" in the long-running saga about his possible transfer to AC Milan from the Los Angeles Galaxy.

"I know that next week will be an important week," Beckham said Sunday. "I want to remain with Milan, I've heard nothing from Galaxy, but when it's like this you say it could be good news."

The England midfielder has flourished in Serie A soccer since joining Milan on a three-month loan that is to expire on March 8.

 

MLS sets Friday Beckham deadline

The Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan have until Friday to finalize a transfer agreement for David Beckham, or Major League Soccer will not sign off on any deal, league commissioner Don Garber told reporters on Wednesday.
