Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. said Wednesday it has approved $4.7 billion in dividends for its policy owners in 2010, the second-largest payout in company history. The total is $200 million more than in 2009, and represents a dividend interest rate of 6.15% on unborrowed funds of most life insurance policies.
