Officials Recover 67 Guns At Ga. Airport In 2013

ATLANTA (AP) — Hartsfield-Jackson Airport officials and federal authorities are reminding travelers not to bring guns through airport security checkpoints. Airport officials say 67 guns have been pulled from carry-on bags this year and signs have been installed at all security checkpoints warning passengers not to bring weapons with them into security areas. The airport's General Manager Louis Miller says travelers who bring guns to security checkpoints are breaking federal laws, will be arrested and may face fines of up to $7,500 — aside from possible jail time and prosecution. Officials say they recovered 100 guns from passengers' bags in 2012.Read more on NewsOK.com
