Nolan Clay and Robby Trammell of The Oklahoman won the investigative category, while Capitol Bureau reporter Randy Ellis won in the general news category for a news story that uses public records. The story by Clay and Trammell, titled “Oklahoma City Councilman Ed Shadid still fighting to keep past secret,” focused on Oklahoma City mayoral candidate Ed Shadid. Contest judges wrote, “The Oklahoman went to the mat to have opened the sealed divorce records of a mayoral candidate who invoked his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination.Read more on NewsOK.com
