The race to open is over. Wolf Creek Ski Area in Pagosa Springs ran its lifts this weekend after a storm dumped 30 inches of snow. The Oct. 13 opening was the mountain’s second earliest, according to the ski area. Three lifts — Treasure, Bonanza and Nova — are open. The resort will stay open on weekends until a bigger opening projected for Nov.
