Jessica Rinaldi / Reuters Pier 1, a home goods retailer based in Fort Worth, Texas, has filed for bankruptcy. A press release from Business Wire said that the company is pursuing a "orderly sale process" by filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Pier 1 CEO and CFO Robert Riesbeck said in a statement that the company is "pleased with the initial interest as we engage in discussions with potential buyers." In a Business Wire press release published on Monday, the company announced that it is "pursuing a sale" by voluntarily filing for Chapter 11 in the eastern district of Virginia's bankruptcy court.
