NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Police say they've arrested a dozen people on narcotics charges in the Hudson Valley and that they expect to make more arrests in the area. Authorities say they made the arrests during a five-hour operation on Wednesday in the Orange County city of Newburgh. Of those arrested on misdemeanor heroin possession charges, five are from Newburgh and two are from nearby Walden. Two reside outside of Orange County in neighboring Dutchess County. Newburgh Police Chief Dan Cameron says 30 percent of the arrests in Newburgh involved people who don't live in the city.
