Pooler Planning Commissioners on Monday voted to recommend that the City Council add a new furniture store to the mix in rapidly developing Godley Station. With one vote, the planning commission signed off on a request to subdivide a lot on Trader’s Way into two smaller lots. In another, the commission voted to accept a site and landscape plan for a La-Z-Boy furniture and decor store in one of the newly created lots. If the requests are approved by the City Council at its meeting next week, the new 15,600-square-foot store would go up next door to Atlantic Radiology, between Trader’s Way and Towne Center Boulevard. Nathan Long of Thomas & Hutton, who spoke on behalf of the applicant Monday, said construction could begin as soon as April and wrap up by the end of the year. A separate request to rezone about 3 acres of property on Quacco Road to house a self-storage facility also got a favorable recommendation from city planning commissioners Monday.
