They say that traveling from the U.S. to London is “crossing the pond,” but try telling that to those of us who made the trek from the West Coast for Sunday’s Seahawks-Raiders game, which Seattle won in convincing fashion. The trip revealed some of the major obstacles — almost all of them logistical — that stand in the way of an NFL team relocating to London, but there was something fitting to returning after a long flight to see the AFC back, in many ways, to what we thought it would be entering the season. The Patriots, their early-season struggles now seemingly way behind them, won a thrilling 43-40 game over the Chiefs, the Steelers earned a critical victory over the surprising Bengals, and the Ravens dominated the Titans after last week’s loss to the Browns. A season after being dominated by the NFC in interconference play, 41 wins to 23, the AFC has appeared to be the superior conference so far, holding a 14-11 advantage through six weeks. Which team will come out on top of the conference this year?
