The Crystal Lake Park District hosted its first Beach Bash on Saturday to kick off the beginning of summer. The free event began at 9 a.m. at Crystal Lake Main Beach, 300 Lakeshore Drive. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the playground took place at 10 a.m. The park renovations finished in May ahead of the season. The recreation hot spot offered half-priced boat rentals and raffle drawings throughout the day.
