(Tara McAlister) History has a way of repeating itself.Recently, I read that the White House lawn is now adorned with a garden for the first family. I'm a woman who believes in the pure joy of a homegrown tomato sandwich, and now many families are beginning to think about creating their own “victory gardens.” Victory gardens were started during World War I and continued during WWII to reduce the pressure on the public food supply brought on by the war effort.
