LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles kennel that housed and trained some of Hollywood's canine stars has closed its doors after nine decades. Rick Karl, who's owned the Hollywood Dog Training School for the past 40 years, retired this week. The school was opened in 1927 by Carl Spitz, a German immigrant who found work training dogs for the movies.
