Josh Turner didn’t have to ask twice when he opened his set at Western Fantasy with a musical question: “Why Don’t We Just Dance?” Barely two chords into 2010’s most-played song on the country charts, and what appeared to be at least half of the 1,100 guests had made a beeline to the dance floor, kicking up their heels to the infectious beat. Chaired by Cindi Burge and Kay Burke and held at the National Western Events Center, the 23rd edition of Western Fantasy raised $1 million for Colorado branch of Volunteers of America and its mission of providing food, shelter and companionship to those in need. The evening also included presentation of the Noel and Tammy Cunningham Humanitarian Award to Larry Mizel.
