By Carla Hinton Staff Writer chinton@oklahoman.comAn eventful trip to Israel by nine Oklahoma women evolved into a one-of-kind fashion experience for the Oklahoma City metro area. Fashions and jewelry from two Israeli design houses and a jewelry collection from graduates of a special Israeli design school were showcased at the Tres Chic Israeli Fashion Event on May 19 at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Hosted by the Jewish Federation of Greater Oklahoma City, the fundraising event featured a short fashion show, lunch and opportunities to purchase some of the pieces highlighted during the festivities. Edie Roodman, the Jewish Federation's executive director, said she and eight friends wanted to bring a bit of Israeli fashion to Oklahoma to shine a positive spotlight on Israel. "This group jumped at the chance to share our Israeli style with our fashion-forward friends," she told the luncheon crowd. 'The miracle of Israel' Roodman said the interfaith group visited several traditional Jewish and Christian sites in Israel plus social service agencies, which helped them get "a real feel for the miracle of Israel.Read more on NewsOK.com
