Disney has begun work on remake of its hit 1992 Whoopi Goldberg comedy "Sister Act". "Legally Blonde" and "10 Things I Hate About You" scribes Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith and Karen McCullah are teaming to pen the restart of the franchise which spawned two films and a Tony-winning Broadway musical. In the original, Goldberg played a Reno lounge singer who goes into protective custody at a San Francisco convent and pretends to be a nun after her mob boss boyfriend (Harvey Keitel) puts a hit on her. It is unclear if original film stars like Goldberg, Keitel and Maggie Smith will return for a third outing in some capacity.
