The Slender Man, the mysterious and haunting online meme, is now getting a feature film with Screen Gems developing a project which is targeting a 2017 release. The character began in a forum where a mythos was quickly built around him - leading to fan art, video games, a mini-series and more about the tall, faceless character who preys mostly on children. Things turned nasty though when two twelve-year-old girls attempted to murder a friend of theirs as they claimed they wanted to pay 'homage' to Slender Man who they thought was real.
