From Staff ReportsThe National Weather Service reports a slight chance for severe weather for much of the state Thursday afternoon and evening. Strong storms could enter the western parts of the state as early as noon and will push east throughout the afternoon. The main threats with the storms are half dollar to golf ball size hail, wind speeds up to 70 mph and a very low potential for tornadoes. The weather service reports a marginal risk of severe weather for southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday and for western parts of the state on Sunday. Chances for severe weather increase starting Memorial Day and are expected for much of next week.
