State Trying To Jump Hurdles To Enact Rules For Charter Sponsor Evaluations

Amid the perception that there is a movement afoot to delay efforts to hold charter sponsors accountable for their schools’ performance, the Department of Education hopes to act swiftly to keep new evaluations on track. As the clock ticks toward October, when the first-ever sponsor evaluations are to be released, charter sponsors and the rest of the public are getting another chance to comment on a key rule needed to implement those reviews.
