By William Crum wcrum@oklahoman.com Staff writerA street adjacent to the new Oklahoma City Convention Center is to be named Mick Cornett Drive after the former mayor.The city council is expected to agree Tuesday to rename SW 4th Street between Robinson Avenue and E.K. Gaylord Boulevard.The two-block section of SW 4 is between the convention center and the new Omni hotel.Plans are for it to be a pedestrian-friendly area that will serve as an event space when the street is closed to traffic.Overhead doors in the convention center exhibit hall and canopies along Mick Cornett Drive, protecting the street from the weather, will enable convention center events to spill out into the street for socializing.The space is a likely candidate for events before Thunder games at the nearby Chesapeake Energy Arena as well.Cornett declined comment until after Tuesday's vote.Convention center construction is expected to be "substantially complete" on Oct.Read more on NewsOK.com
