Rallies were held across the nation last year with a focus on reducing gun violence in the wake of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. Swaney said Saturday’s rally in Oklahoma will advocate for expanded background checks for gun sales, more funding for federal research into gun violence and raising the state’s minimum age to 21 to purchase a rifle.
