A Chinese vocational school has denied a report it was a source of recent cyber attacks on Internet giant Google and other U.S. corporations, Xinhua news agency said on Saturday.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin on Friday said he's optimistic that his search engine will not have to pull out of China over hacking and censorship issues.

Officials at the National Security Agency have been working with Google to investigate the cyber attacks that Google believes originated in China.

A search engine called "Goojje" has come online in China, in an apparent plea to Google not to end operations in the country.

China today rejected U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's call for lifting restrictions on the Internet in the communist country, denouncing her criticism as false and damaging to bilateral ties.
