A visit to the Union Station arch, that ornate stone vestige of old Columbus now surrounded by the brick and glass of the Arena District, had me thinking about a Wild West movie set. The fictional frontier town’s mercantile, hotel and watering hole appear authentic from the dirt-track Main Street, but to walk through the saloon’s swinging doors is to be in on the ruse.
