CHURCH HILL — Happy Valley entered the season down nine starters on defense and seven on offense from last season’s 11-2 campaign, but any anticipated shortcomings didn’t show in Friday night’s season opener against Volunteer. Senior Brayden Sams, now playing quarterback after moving over from wide receiver, looked like a veteran, rushing for two touchdowns and connecting with Will Tuttle for a 40-yard score in the Warriors’ 38-14 victory. Tuttle, a sophomore, also rushed for a pair of TDs.
