Because we’re determined to stay on top of all things “Top Chef” while the Bravo show is in our own backyard, we’re offering recaps of episodes. Here’s a rundown on Jan. 11’s Episode 6, which featured a Top Chef Beer Garden, of sorts, at Elitch Gardens in Denver. Local place highlighted in this episode: For German food inspiration, D Bar chef and owner Keegan Gerhard (a star from the rival Food Network) took the chefs to Rhein Haus in LoDo, a German bier hall imported from Seattle. The Elimination Challenge took place at Elitch Gardens under a tent near the Big Wheel, a 100-plus foot tall Ferris wheel at the center of the park. The chefs again shopped at Whole Foods in Cherry Creek, which in the show always looks 100 times easier to shop at than when the rest of us go.
