Zapata had been facing up to five years in prison, instead was sentenced to one year of probation, a $3,000 fine and 120 hours of community service.

For more than 50 years, the National Sports Center for the Disabled has been a world leader in adaptive snow sports at Winter Park, helping people with disabilities become active outdoors, offering competitive programs and producing paralympic athletes. Now it’s poised to expand its programs in the Front Range with a spacious new facility at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. A high school athletic director in Maryland has been accused of using artificial intelligence to impersonate a principal on an audio recording that included racist and antisemitic comments, authorities said last month. Authorities said the case appears to be among the first of its kind in the country and called for new laws to guard against the technology.
