Stories Related to Wildfire In Waldo County Contained After Daylong Battle

A fire in Prospect that began at midmorning Friday in an unpopulated area near Half Moon Pond burned at least 10 acres before being contained in the evening. The Maine Forest Service has classified much of Maine as in a high category of fire risk due to drought, including Waldo County, where Prospect is located.
