Oceans cover 70 percent of the Earth, and it looks like party activities will cover about 70 percent of the Monterey Bay Aquarium for its upcoming World Oceans Day weekend. Museum visitors are already covered for live music, shark and sea otter research and conservation presentations from the husbandry staff, crafts and other activities for kids, sustainable seafood samples and a marketplace. For an extra fee, those who want to delve deeper can join chefs and culinary experts for informational talks and tips or small-group tours exploring sustainable food and wine production on the ranch, in the vineyard or in the kitchen. Before it moves out of its landmark campus in Menlo Park late this year, Sunset Magazine will hold its last Sunset Celebration Weekend on the Cliff May-designed property with extensive grounds landscaped by Thomas Church. Amtrak and California State Parks will hold Amtrak Train Days at the state Railroad Museum, offering free admission, a look at the Amtrak Exhibit Train, an interactive depot for kids and other displays.
