ELDORA — An avid cross country skier, Jamie Fanselow was even more energized than usual to race Wednesday night because of something historic that happened 6,000 miles away earlier that day. In a breakthrough for American Nordic racing, U.S. racers Jessie Diggins and Kikkan Randall became the first U.S. cross-country skiers to claim Olympic gold, prevailing in the team sprint event at the PyeongChang Games. Fanselow, 48, drives up five times a week from her home in Arvada to work out on Eldora’s 20-plus miles of cross-country trails.
