Studio Toer transformed visitors to the Into The Great Wide Open music festival into literal treehuggers with their Boom Boom soundscape installation last year. Located in a wooded landscape on the Dutch island of Vlieland, Boom Boom—which means ‘tree tree’ in Dutch—introduces a new and extraordinary way of interacting with nature and comprised individual trees that would make sounds when visitors activated its motion and touch sensors.
