Boom Boom art installation transforms a forest into an interactive soundscape in the Netherlands

Studio Toer transformed visitors to the Into The Great Wide Open music festival into literal treehuggers with their Boom Boom soundscape installation last year. Located in a wooded landscape on the Dutch island of Vlieland, Boom Boom—which means ‘tree tree’ in Dutch—introduces a new and extraordinary way of interacting with nature and comprised individual trees that would make sounds when visitors activated its motion and touch sensors.
