Wheels for the World to accept donated wheelchairs

Community reportWheels for the World, a program by nonprofit Joni and Friends, will host a drive for used wheelchairs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 4. The public is invited to donate used manual wheelchairs at the St. Noel Church parking lot, 35200 Chardon Road in Willoughby Hills. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible, and receipts are available.

 

Friends of Morley Library sets July book sale

Friends of Morley Library will host the July book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 14, in the Friends Bookshop at the library's lower level, 184 Phelps St. in Painesville. Property owners along the Lake Erie shoreline have noticed the rising water levels. And the erosion.It was standing room only as over 75 people filled the board room at the Northern Career Institute in Eastlake for a town hall meeting June 14 on erosion damage caused by the near record high water level of Lake Erie.
